An Interview with Dave Renton about the Anti Nazi League, RAR and the Smashing of the National Front
Joe Mulhall sits down with Dave Renton to discuss the subject of Dave's new book- the conflict between the left and Far Right in the 1970s. Dave takes us across some of the key historical events that led to the colossal electoral defeat of the National Front in 1979, and how Rock Against Racism and the Anti Nazi League were able to play a part in the NF's downfall. Joe and Dave consider the implications of a revival of the ANL, as had been discussed in 2018, and give warnings for the new threat of a Far Right that is post-organisational, and no longer tied to the symbolism of 20th century fascism.
